Priceless

McGuire has been growing up so fast the past month and its crazy to say this but NOOO! I don't want him to grow anymore! I love the innocense, I love how he is always honest even if he knows he'll get in trouble. No one has taught him to lie, to cheat, to kick someone else. I would like to keep it that way!

He is starting to put words together and make sentences, he has been taught how to kick a ball instead of throwing it and he is getting heavier by the day! The summer clothes we bought him, I thought would last all summer, well lets say we're making another trip to target here soon!

On thursday while Taylor was in his class, McGuire and I decided to take a quick trip to Days Market. As many of you know I worked there for 4 years, and it was like a 2nd home to me. While we were there of course I bumped into old friends and chit chatted for a while. If any of you have or had a toddler, they don't have the patience for that. But that day McGuire sure did. So I got him a balloon for the awesome behavior that he had during that time.

Hoagie Buns: $1.59
Nectarines: $1.09
Free orange farm animal balloon: FREE
The smile from McGuires face:

PRICELESS!!!!

Tuxedo

When we went to St. George last May for Camille's wedding, I found this cute suit from Christmas time for McGuire. I wasn't sure if it wold fit him or not, so I tried it on him to make sure. I know I don't have to tell you, but he is one handsome little boy! :)

He wasn't too fond of the clip on tie that I had for him, so I wasn't able to get a proper picture with that on him. But he is still a cutie with out one. He should totally be a model, don't you think?

Boots are in the Family

So the last post I put up was with my rain boots with us being stuck indoors during a rainstorm. This last Saturday morning as we were getting ready for the day, McGuire came across his too small boots from Christmas and just had to wear them, regardless if his toes were scrunched inside them.

As he was wondering around the house as Mr. Cool. He found his toy cell phone and this is what came to his mind.

I guess this is what they do at Daycare, and probably has seen me do this while talking to Taylor on the phone. I couldn't stop laughing, I guess I was laughing too hard cuz he looked at me in all seriousness and shh's me! If looks could kill I would be dead, twice! It must have been a serious conversation with his little buddy. I'm so happy to have a kid with such an imagination!

These boots were made for walking?

This weekend was the longest weekend ever! Only because of the cruddy weather we had, so McGuire and I were stuck inside all day long on Saturday while Taylor had to work. Since I was doing laundry the night before, and to avoid the puddles, I wore my rain boots. (I swear I step on EVERY puddle even when I try not to, its not fair)
Anywho, I left my rainboots out for them to dry a little bit faster over night. McGuire LOVES to put on my shoes. I think it makes him feel big or something. He saw my boots and GLOWED! He was so thrilled to see that boots and wanted them on instantly! We struggled a few times to get him to stand up by himself, but we got it!

Here's the result:

He loved being in them, but couldn't walk very well in them, so he was done wearing them. But while he was in them, he couldn't stop looking at them and oooing and awwwing. It was a good laugh for us both! Little boys are the best!

Terrible Twos sneaks in....

18 Months ago McGuire was this little man....
So peaceful and quiet...

NOW.....
to a Goofy....
Cute Temper Tantrums....

Messy Little Toddler
But wouldn't change a single thing about it!!!

The past month has been extremely fast paced in the Daggs home. Everyday there is something new and excited going on.. McGuire has now started to get the terrible two's by screaming, yelling, hitting, throwing, rolling, getting into everything, making complete messes of everything that moves or can move.... I think you get the picture. Its almost like he just drank a pitcher of sugary water and is on the run for something to mess with. No matter how hard we try to disipline him, it just gets worse. All I can do is sit back and watch, maybe giggle lightly to myself, because there is not a whole lot I can do.

But as I look beyond the terrible twos and see the little boy growing so much and every second of his waking hours he is learning, discovering and curiously catching on to the world around us. I will let everyone know who babysits him, he loves rocks and lights.. and he'll throw EVERYTHING at you! On occasion you will get a sit down minute with him on the couch, just make sure there is trucks or motorcycles on the TV screen and give him a popsicle, there's your five to ten minutes of relief. :)

Summer is here finally, which means its walking season for McGuire and the fam. Every night after dinner (if its not spaghetti) we'll go on a walk around the town and go visit the turkeys and geese in a close by yard. McGuire LOVES to see them and look at the feathers and listen to all the sounds that they make. Its great entertainment. I'm looking forward to such a busy, fun, exhausting summer... Stay tuned for more excitment and adventure of  18 month old McGuire and his parents!

June Bugs

As some of you know, Taylor and I live in a pretty luxurious apartment...... HA HA HA funny huh... built in the 70's and its so tiny. I mean it works for us, not gonna lie though its very interesting all the things that occur in that house due to its oldness of the building technique.

Any who... Summer is finally here when you hear the sound of June Bugs outside of your door. Taylor and I were walking to get our laundry from our laundormat one night (ha ha told you luxurious) and I heard one and stopped to show him... Well there was another one and they were going at it, if you know what I mean.

Taylor had no idea what a june bug was and what they do.. so i explained to him kinda what they are and why I know about them...  (my neighbor, michael, while growing up, would eat them at night. To be cool or for attention, its still a mystery to me why)

Taylor was kind of freaked out by them... Well the next night, Taylor was going to get another load of Laundry while I was talking to his mom..

Just visualize...

He grabs the Hamper, steps out of the doorway, shreeks, jumps back in the house and slams the door shut behind him... looking outside at the bugs quietly, hoping that me and laura didn't see it.

You all know how I am.. I laughed sooo hard. He's freaked out by these bugs... like seriously FREAKED out! He was embarrassed and his mom was so curious as to why I was laughing so hard and he was so freaked out.

I show her and Taylor so kindly opens the door and says, "Look at them, they are so UGLY!"  While stating the obvious, a june bug flies in our house, going crazy! Guess who goes running away from it.. Yup you guessed it, Taylor's Mom and, yup again, Taylor.. screaming in the same tone. It was a total mad house in there.

Taylor hurried, grabbed the hamper and ran to the laundromat area, while I was left with the big but littler then a cockroach like critter and kill it with a magazine.

His mom has this comment for me while hiding from its unpredictable flying.. "Isn't it comforting to know that your Husband is scared of june bugs.. doesn't that make you feel safe..." I just laughed..

Thanks to the June bugs I got a huge laugh! Thank you June Bugs for letting me know that summer is now here

Lesson Definitely Learned!

St. George Trip was an ultimate adventure... that's for sure. Taking an 18 month old out of the comfortable and familiar environment and staying 3 nights in a town where nothing looks the same or feels the same was probably one of the worst ideas I had ever had. But we made it very enjoyable.
We went to my friends wedding and it was so beautiful and personal. I loved it! McGuire on the other hand, had ants in his pants and wanted to go run them out during the Ceremony! So that was a battle for the silence, and lets say I got him as quiet as I possibly could. Sorry to Camille for a noisy lil one ha ha I don't think she really noticed though. I didn't on my wedding.

We found this great little community water area for kids and played in that for about an hour or two and we just tugged along for the weekend. Played in a park and enjoyed the warm (I mean WARM air)

I told you I would have some pictures, and I do have some, just not alot. But moral of  this story.. no more family trips until my kids can handle the unfamiliar environment, and can have their cribs to sleep in.

Lately

Lately..... We've been trying to build a house, or qualify to build a house anyways... We came across this AWESOME opportunity to just buy a forclosure house that is already built and never been lived in! With an affordable payment plan. I mean come on, who wouldn't go for that if they were looking for a house. So hopefully by the end of the month we will be new home-owners.

In the meantime, one of my best friends/ old college roommate is getting married this weekend. Taylor, McGuire and I get to head on down to my most favorite place in the world. Yup, ST.GEORGE! Taylor has never really spent time in St. George and never liked it. He only drove thru it to get to motorcross games and ate in Denny's lol. Some experience he had right?! So we get to have our very first family trip to southern Utah! Don't worry, there will be pictures up with this trip!

I'm extremely thrilled to be able to go see all my past happenings there and all the places I worked, learned and met people! Its kind of going to be a reunion for me, the wedding will include people that I haven't seen in a very long time! No worries, we will be going through fabulous freddy's car wash, starbucks, shopping, hiking (hopefully) and seeing the sights! Just not looking forward to the four hour drive with an 18 month old, we will see how that goes. Wish us luck!

Mothers Day Weekend

This weekend was a weekend full of ANIMALS! Thank goodness that it was great weather to go to the Zoo..

It was the first Zoo trip for our family.. and McGuire's very first zoo experience. It was a great day for the zoo. The whole Thacker family came. McGuire was so excited to see the Monkeys and the birds.. It was so cute, he'd get to the glass part in the indoor zoo and knock on the glass... He wanted them to get closer to him so he could pet them. I thought that was the cutest thing to see. He even got to have his first Merry-Go-Round Ride on a wolf... he was so thrilled to be riding on it!

Afterwards, we went to chuck a rama... it was an adventure... McGuire ate what he wanted, stole food from other peoples plates, when he was done eating and had had enough of waiting for everyone else to finish, he threw his food across the room. I think its time for some manners. It was definitely an adventure.

Ella, McGuire's Cousin who is a year older, has an attachment to him. While we were leaving (she's in a booth with her dad on the bench next to her) she was yelling to say goodbye to McGuire, trying to get over Ted's (her dad) head for about 5 minutes. It was the cutest thing to hear and see. So of course we had to give her a minute to say goodbye and give him kisses on the cheek.

McGuire's first Merry-Go-Round Ride EVER! He absolutely LOVED IT!

Knocking for the monkeys to get closer

He got sick of me taking pictures of him.. so this funny face was needed to let me know ha ha I love it~!

It was a great weekend for celebrating mothers!

Kisses that melt you heart

This morning when I woke up, I must have had a terrible attitude in my dream, because it followed me to reality. I guess I had this look on my face that wasn't very welcoming to ANYONE, and McGuire knew it....

Today as Taylor and I were struggling to get McGuire ready for day care, he decided that he wanted to get a little jump ride on my lap. What I do is kneel on my knees and I hold him, let him jump and I just support him with my hugging arms. (For some reason he just loves it...)

Well today as we were lap jumping he all of a sudden stopped, looked at me and gave me a hug... then he jumped some more, stopped, looked at me and all of a sudden a huge wet slobbery mouth was going for my lips... yup a kiss that melted my heart.

My bad attitude from waking up was all gone, thanks to the spontaneous love that my little boy spread to me for that split second.

Isn't it funny how those things happen? As I ponder about that precious moment, I realize how blessed I am to have my own little family, so healthy and loving and supportive.. and also to have a family all together, period. With all the struggles that we all have been through we all love each other no matter what! What a blessing to have my little boy, and to have the kisses he gave to me, spontaneous. I'm so blessed to be a mother, and a wife to two of the most incredible men in my life!

It truly melted my heart!
