Toilet-paper-roll-Flowers

I finally got the flowers to where I want them in my house, it amazes me the difference they really made in my home! Here's the Tutorial!

Supplies:

  • Toilet Paper Rolls and/or Paper Towel Rolls
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Spray Paint (optional)

1st:
Collect up all your toilet paper and paper towel rolls, this may take a while, FYI (1 roll = 1 flower)

2nd:
Once you get enough to get started, if you want to spray paint, go ahead and do that, inside and out. I did Metallic Silver, it turned out GREAT! Let it dry for about 20 minutes are so...

3rd:
Once they are completely dry, press down on the roll as hard as possible, the better the crease the better the pedal.

4th:
Cut the rolls into inch width wise, or to your best judgement.

5th:
I made the flower before glueing them together, just so I knew how they would look :) Put glue on one side, and attached the other pedal. Let dry.

6th:
I used push pins for attaching to my wall... I just put it in the middle, they turned out GREAT~!

If you end up trying this EASY craft, let me know! I would love what you came up with!

Nesting WAY late!

Lately I have been in my nesting season, I didn't really have one while pregnant with McGuire nor did I after... But its hit me HARD since May. I'm into making everything homemade, instead of buying way expensive home decorations. So I'm going to make my own.

I love to look at all the blogs out there where they are doing the exact same thing.  Go to this link and its so cute The kundin Family, She shows you the wreath and also the tutorial. I will have one on here shortly of course. But I couldn't resist to show you this!
So I call this the toilet paper roll flower. The blogger who had posted it made it into a wreath.. I thought it was cute, but I got something else in mind for these little babies!

Here's the start of them! I got some collecting of toilet paper rolls to do. So stay tuned but here's a sneak peak of what I'm going to be doing!

I can't for how it will turn out! :)

New addition to our Family!

Finally I convinced Taylor that we needed to get some kind of pet at our house. We aren't aloud to have big dogs at our house, and to be honest... little dogs are too high maintance for me. I always say the bigger the dog the bigger the heart. :) Aspen is a definite proof of that. But she's a bull mastiff, 110 lbs and lives at Taylors parents house for the time being, til we get our house (which is taking Forever and a DAY!)

Remember back in May my story about the june bugs and Taylor totally freaking out! Well this is why we got our addition! We don't want to spray our shack, in fear of what has happened to two little girls in West Jordan a few months ago. Its just tooo Dangerous! But the stupid bugs just won't leave us alone, PERIOD. I have to drown spiders in my bathtub every morning before I take a shower or sticky them to death with my hair spray. And earwigs... GROSS! Since McGuire is a curious little boy, he wants to catch them and either play with them, smash them with his finger or WORSE eat them... (it gives me the creeby jeebies!)

So its Frankie to the rescue! He's become our new house cat! He's a 4 year old fat cat and was dropped off at the pound at night by the owner, sad huh! You can't see his belly in this picture but its really there! Taylor HATES cats, but he hates bugs more! So its in our best interest to get him. I'm really excited to see how this goes and hopefully our house will be bug free! :) Frankie has yet to meet McGuire and we'll see how that goes, I think it will go well, Frankie is very mellow for a kitty cat. I'll let you know how it all goes down tonight.. hopefully its great :)

If you didin't know already.....

Ha ha I had to put that as the title, cuz alot of people think its about being pregnant... and no I'm not pregnant, wish I was again, but not yet. Soon though, hopefully. Anyways, for those who didn't know already.. I have a business called Stefs Design, I know its not a super exciting name for a business, but hey.. I'm getting to it ok?!? :)

Anyways, I have a website for it and also a blogspot for it, so I can interact more with people who like to look at the things I'm currently working on. Its http://www.stefsdesign.blogspot.com/.  I would encourage you all to take a gander at it, comment, compalin, criticize and HOPEFULLY follow?!? :)

Its a passion of mine to do design work, I just can't find a job where they need my talents. So I started my own. I would love to get advice from everyone so I can get all the suggestions that everyone thinks would make them better. :)
Check it out, if you like it GREAT, if not, well definitely let me know! :)

Love,

Stefanie!

Happy Fourth from our Family :)

Happy Fourth of July Everybody :)

We had a very busy weekend full of family fun! It was the first fourth of July for our family being together and it was so fun! We went to a BBQ with Taylor's Family and Celebrated Mike (his older Bro) birthday, McGuire enjoyed a nice muddy bath (from him going in and out of it all the time) with our pals, Otis, Baxter and Aspen (our dog). See picture below...
After the BBQ there we went to my parents house and had yet another BBQ and watched the street that I grew up on light up in fireworks, I took all my neices and nephews that were there (only 15 of them) and we went for a walk up the street.  McGuire was on my shoulders and all I could hear from him was "WHOA!" and "YAAAY." If you know McGuire at the least bit, you know he has an obession for lights and colors. So it was his chirstmas that evening.. as the night got later we waited to watch the traditional Memorial Hill fireworks (my street is the best street to watch it on) McGuire was so close to being asleep until BOOM! More fireworks and the famous second streak of energy had rose!

All I can say is that I am so grateful for all the people in the past, present and the future have done for our country. It was a great weekend to celebrate it as well. :)

Priceless

McGuire has been growing up so fast the past month and its crazy to say this but NOOO! I don't want him to grow anymore! I love the innocense, I love how he is always honest even if he knows he'll get in trouble. No one has taught him to lie, to cheat, to kick someone else. I would like to keep it that way!

He is starting to put words together and make sentences, he has been taught how to kick a ball instead of throwing it and he is getting heavier by the day! The summer clothes we bought him, I thought would last all summer, well lets say we're making another trip to target here soon!

On thursday while Taylor was in his class, McGuire and I decided to take a quick trip to Days Market. As many of you know I worked there for 4 years, and it was like a 2nd home to me. While we were there of course I bumped into old friends and chit chatted for a while. If any of you have or had a toddler, they don't have the patience for that. But that day McGuire sure did. So I got him a balloon for the awesome behavior that he had during that time.

Hoagie Buns: $1.59
Nectarines: $1.09
Free orange farm animal balloon: FREE
The smile from McGuires face:

PRICELESS!!!!

Tuxedo

When we went to St. George last May for Camille's wedding, I found this cute suit from Christmas time for McGuire. I wasn't sure if it wold fit him or not, so I tried it on him to make sure. I know I don't have to tell you, but he is one handsome little boy! :)

He wasn't too fond of the clip on tie that I had for him, so I wasn't able to get a proper picture with that on him. But he is still a cutie with out one. He should totally be a model, don't you think?

Boots are in the Family

So the last post I put up was with my rain boots with us being stuck indoors during a rainstorm. This last Saturday morning as we were getting ready for the day, McGuire came across his too small boots from Christmas and just had to wear them, regardless if his toes were scrunched inside them.

As he was wondering around the house as Mr. Cool. He found his toy cell phone and this is what came to his mind.

I guess this is what they do at Daycare, and probably has seen me do this while talking to Taylor on the phone. I couldn't stop laughing, I guess I was laughing too hard cuz he looked at me in all seriousness and shh's me! If looks could kill I would be dead, twice! It must have been a serious conversation with his little buddy. I'm so happy to have a kid with such an imagination!

These boots were made for walking?

This weekend was the longest weekend ever! Only because of the cruddy weather we had, so McGuire and I were stuck inside all day long on Saturday while Taylor had to work. Since I was doing laundry the night before, and to avoid the puddles, I wore my rain boots. (I swear I step on EVERY puddle even when I try not to, its not fair)
Anywho, I left my rainboots out for them to dry a little bit faster over night. McGuire LOVES to put on my shoes. I think it makes him feel big or something. He saw my boots and GLOWED! He was so thrilled to see that boots and wanted them on instantly! We struggled a few times to get him to stand up by himself, but we got it!

Here's the result:

He loved being in them, but couldn't walk very well in them, so he was done wearing them. But while he was in them, he couldn't stop looking at them and oooing and awwwing. It was a good laugh for us both! Little boys are the best!

Terrible Twos sneaks in....

18 Months ago McGuire was this little man....
So peaceful and quiet...

NOW.....
to a Goofy....
Cute Temper Tantrums....

Messy Little Toddler
But wouldn't change a single thing about it!!!

The past month has been extremely fast paced in the Daggs home. Everyday there is something new and excited going on.. McGuire has now started to get the terrible two's by screaming, yelling, hitting, throwing, rolling, getting into everything, making complete messes of everything that moves or can move.... I think you get the picture. Its almost like he just drank a pitcher of sugary water and is on the run for something to mess with. No matter how hard we try to disipline him, it just gets worse. All I can do is sit back and watch, maybe giggle lightly to myself, because there is not a whole lot I can do.

But as I look beyond the terrible twos and see the little boy growing so much and every second of his waking hours he is learning, discovering and curiously catching on to the world around us. I will let everyone know who babysits him, he loves rocks and lights.. and he'll throw EVERYTHING at you! On occasion you will get a sit down minute with him on the couch, just make sure there is trucks or motorcycles on the TV screen and give him a popsicle, there's your five to ten minutes of relief. :)

Summer is here finally, which means its walking season for McGuire and the fam. Every night after dinner (if its not spaghetti) we'll go on a walk around the town and go visit the turkeys and geese in a close by yard. McGuire LOVES to see them and look at the feathers and listen to all the sounds that they make. Its great entertainment. I'm looking forward to such a busy, fun, exhausting summer... Stay tuned for more excitment and adventure of  18 month old McGuire and his parents!
