An icky story....

Last night, while McGuire was asleep safely in his crib,  I was getting a trash bag from my cupboard and low and behold there is a HUGE SPIDER. For those who don't know me, I absolutely incredibly HATE spiders! I will do anything to get rid of them by not getting in close contact (thank goodness for vacuums, hairspray and blowdryers).

Back to my story, so out of reflex from how big of a spider it was I crushed her with my nikes... CRUNCH!!! Oh my heck that was a big crunch.. and she was stuck to my shoe... GROSS GROSS GROSS!!!! As I was showing Taylor my kill... she fell off, and there were her millions of BABIES going EVERYWHERE!!!! I was freaking out with the creeby geebies, and Taylor jumped up and try his best to kill them... A Solution came into my mind.. Lysol kitchen spray! So we sprayed and sprayed and sprayed. We got most of them, we thought.

After that happened we decided to clean every square inch of the house (other then McGuires room, since he was sleeping) as we were doing so, more spiders, but older ones and not pregnant thank heaven.. I think we killed about 15-20 spiders... I FREAKED OUT! I hate SPIDERS! So the vacuum came handy, and I sucked up those creepy suckers til they were gone!

Since this was at 11:00 at night, there was no doubt in my mind I wouldn't be able to fall asleep, and even if I did I would have nightmares about spiders.. and yes i did... GROSS!!! What a great way to start the day.. and Frankie (our cat) is certainly fired.. but he can still stay with us, cuz we love him and hes cheap entertainment.

Thats my icky story! If you have a solution to my problem let me know... cuz I would love to not have spiders everywhere. Don't say the word MOVE, cuz believe me, its in the works!!!

Dear So and So...

I love this idea that Texas Monkey has on her blog, she does a once a week deal where she writes to someone about her frustration towards them BUT keeps it anonmous to who it really is... They trun out to be soo funny cuz its true about alot of people and easy to connect! So I am going to start one and hopefully I get some people to share their frustrations too, and to make a little laugh at the simple things in life! :) Check out her blog HERE.

Here are Mine for the week:
Dear lady with no personal space:

Please get out of my personal space, and trying to rush me in the subway line.. its not my fault that I have a sandwhich and the worker on the other side ONLY has two hands.. also, paying does require some interaction and yours is not needed.. so please don't push my sandwhich out of the way while I'm gathering the change. Again, you are not allowed in my personal space.

Love,
Rushing me will not help

Dear Self:

Even though it may be rough times for you right now (job junting and all) does not mean you need to eat all the yummy snacks in the house! Remind yourself you are on a diet, to not look like you are in your 2nd trimester of pregnancy (which I am not) and to make people stop staring at your tummy. Those snacks are for McGuire and Taylor, Not for Stefanie's Stress level to go down. Now go motivate yourself to run....

Sincerely,
Soon to be your skinny self again :)

Dear empty nester:

I want to thank you for the giggles that you have provided for me. I know your old, and I know that you no longer have youngins' living in your house. Your solution to this makes me giggle everytime I see it. To see your "baby" in a stroller while you take her on a walk, but I really think that dog would rather be walking beside you then in a stroller. If you really that desperate for lil' ones at your house, I will gladly let you watch McGuire for an hour or so... I'm sure that will cure your Empty Nester Syndrom. Feel free to come on over! :)

Sincerely,
Walks with McGuire are so Interesting

Here a lil somethin to smile at!

WOMAN'S PERFECT BREAKFAST

She's sitting at the table with her gourmet coffee. Her son is on the cover of the Wheaties box. Her daughter is on the cover of Business Week... Her boyfriend is on the cover of Playgirl. And her husband is on the back of the milk carton.

Keep reading-they get better!!!

 WOMEN'S REVENGE

'Cash, check or charge?' I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase. As she fumbled for her wallet, I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.'So, do you always carry your TV remote?' I asked. 'No,' she replied, 'but my husband refused to come shopping with me, and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally..'
 UNDERSTANDING WOMEN

(A MAN'S PERSPECTIVE) I know I'm not going to understand women. I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax, pour it onto your upper thigh, rip the hair out by the root, and still be afraid of a spider.

 CIGARETTES AND TAMPONS

A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up & down the aisles.. The sales girl notices him and asks him if she can help him. He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife. She directs him down the correct aisle. A few minutes later, he deposits a huge bag of cotton balls and a ball of string on the counter. She says, confused, 'Sir, I thought you were looking for some tampons for your wife? He answers, 'You see, it's like this, yesterday, I sent my wife to the store to get me a carton of cigarettes, and she came back with a tin of tobacco and some rolling papers; cause it's sooo-ooo--oo-ooo
much cheaper. So, I figure if I have to roll my own ........... so does she. (I figure this guy is the one on the milk carton!)

 WIFE VS. HUSBAND

A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, 'Relatives of yours?'  'Yep,' the wife replied, 'in-laws.'

 WORDS

A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day. 30,000 to a man's 15,000. The wife replied, 'The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men... The husband then turned to his wife and asked, 'What?'

 CREATION

A man said to his wife one day, 'I don't know how you can be so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time.' The wife responded, 'Allow me to explain. God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me; God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you!

WHO DOES WHAT

A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning. The wife said, 'You should do it because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee. The husband said, 'You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.' Wife replies, 'No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.' Husband replies, 'I can't believe that, show me.' So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says ... 'HEBREWS'

The Silent Treatment

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight.
Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, 'Please wake me at 5:00 AM.' He left it where he knew she would find it.
The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed.
The paper said, 'It is 5:00 AM. Wake up.'
Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.

White Trash Weekend #1

So this weekend we got to have a great experience at the most white trash thing ever :) Its called the TRACTOR PULLS, it was the first time ever in Heber to be held and our little family HAD to go watch it.

It really wasn't all that bad, it kinda got old after a while, but I LOVE to people watch, so that was my entertainment. I will admit though it is a real sport, alot of time, effort and money go into some of these trucks/tractors.

McGuire loved the smoke that the trucks let out and the loud trucks! Did you know that trucks can pull like 2 ton worth of weight (does that sound right lol)? McGuire's Uncle Parker went for a try in the pulls, he got fifth place, which really isn't that bad for that kind of a truck and for the first time for Parker.

Oh also before I forget, our kitty, Frankie, is fitting in just fine.. He may get a tug or two at the tail and ears by McGuire, but he's a good sport all together about it, ha ha. This is him in sleep mode, which is usually ALL THE TIME. He cracks me up everytime. He is a very LAZY cat! But is getting most of the bugs, especially the flying moths!

Toilet-paper-roll-Flowers

I finally got the flowers to where I want them in my house, it amazes me the difference they really made in my home! Here's the Tutorial!

Supplies:

  • Toilet Paper Rolls and/or Paper Towel Rolls
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors
  • Spray Paint (optional)

1st:
Collect up all your toilet paper and paper towel rolls, this may take a while, FYI (1 roll = 1 flower)

2nd:
Once you get enough to get started, if you want to spray paint, go ahead and do that, inside and out. I did Metallic Silver, it turned out GREAT! Let it dry for about 20 minutes are so...

3rd:
Once they are completely dry, press down on the roll as hard as possible, the better the crease the better the pedal.

4th:
Cut the rolls into inch width wise, or to your best judgement.

5th:
I made the flower before glueing them together, just so I knew how they would look :) Put glue on one side, and attached the other pedal. Let dry.

6th:
I used push pins for attaching to my wall... I just put it in the middle, they turned out GREAT~!

If you end up trying this EASY craft, let me know! I would love what you came up with!

Nesting WAY late!

Lately I have been in my nesting season, I didn't really have one while pregnant with McGuire nor did I after... But its hit me HARD since May. I'm into making everything homemade, instead of buying way expensive home decorations. So I'm going to make my own.

I love to look at all the blogs out there where they are doing the exact same thing.  Go to this link and its so cute The kundin Family, She shows you the wreath and also the tutorial. I will have one on here shortly of course. But I couldn't resist to show you this!
So I call this the toilet paper roll flower. The blogger who had posted it made it into a wreath.. I thought it was cute, but I got something else in mind for these little babies!

Here's the start of them! I got some collecting of toilet paper rolls to do. So stay tuned but here's a sneak peak of what I'm going to be doing!

I can't for how it will turn out! :)

New addition to our Family!

Finally I convinced Taylor that we needed to get some kind of pet at our house. We aren't aloud to have big dogs at our house, and to be honest... little dogs are too high maintance for me. I always say the bigger the dog the bigger the heart. :) Aspen is a definite proof of that. But she's a bull mastiff, 110 lbs and lives at Taylors parents house for the time being, til we get our house (which is taking Forever and a DAY!)

Remember back in May my story about the june bugs and Taylor totally freaking out! Well this is why we got our addition! We don't want to spray our shack, in fear of what has happened to two little girls in West Jordan a few months ago. Its just tooo Dangerous! But the stupid bugs just won't leave us alone, PERIOD. I have to drown spiders in my bathtub every morning before I take a shower or sticky them to death with my hair spray. And earwigs... GROSS! Since McGuire is a curious little boy, he wants to catch them and either play with them, smash them with his finger or WORSE eat them... (it gives me the creeby jeebies!)

So its Frankie to the rescue! He's become our new house cat! He's a 4 year old fat cat and was dropped off at the pound at night by the owner, sad huh! You can't see his belly in this picture but its really there! Taylor HATES cats, but he hates bugs more! So its in our best interest to get him. I'm really excited to see how this goes and hopefully our house will be bug free! :) Frankie has yet to meet McGuire and we'll see how that goes, I think it will go well, Frankie is very mellow for a kitty cat. I'll let you know how it all goes down tonight.. hopefully its great :)

If you didin't know already.....

Ha ha I had to put that as the title, cuz alot of people think its about being pregnant... and no I'm not pregnant, wish I was again, but not yet. Soon though, hopefully. Anyways, for those who didn't know already.. I have a business called Stefs Design, I know its not a super exciting name for a business, but hey.. I'm getting to it ok?!? :)

Anyways, I have a website for it and also a blogspot for it, so I can interact more with people who like to look at the things I'm currently working on. Its http://www.stefsdesign.blogspot.com/.  I would encourage you all to take a gander at it, comment, compalin, criticize and HOPEFULLY follow?!? :)

Its a passion of mine to do design work, I just can't find a job where they need my talents. So I started my own. I would love to get advice from everyone so I can get all the suggestions that everyone thinks would make them better. :)
Check it out, if you like it GREAT, if not, well definitely let me know! :)

Love,

Stefanie!

Happy Fourth from our Family :)

Happy Fourth of July Everybody :)

We had a very busy weekend full of family fun! It was the first fourth of July for our family being together and it was so fun! We went to a BBQ with Taylor's Family and Celebrated Mike (his older Bro) birthday, McGuire enjoyed a nice muddy bath (from him going in and out of it all the time) with our pals, Otis, Baxter and Aspen (our dog). See picture below...
After the BBQ there we went to my parents house and had yet another BBQ and watched the street that I grew up on light up in fireworks, I took all my neices and nephews that were there (only 15 of them) and we went for a walk up the street.  McGuire was on my shoulders and all I could hear from him was "WHOA!" and "YAAAY." If you know McGuire at the least bit, you know he has an obession for lights and colors. So it was his chirstmas that evening.. as the night got later we waited to watch the traditional Memorial Hill fireworks (my street is the best street to watch it on) McGuire was so close to being asleep until BOOM! More fireworks and the famous second streak of energy had rose!

All I can say is that I am so grateful for all the people in the past, present and the future have done for our country. It was a great weekend to celebrate it as well. :)

Priceless

McGuire has been growing up so fast the past month and its crazy to say this but NOOO! I don't want him to grow anymore! I love the innocense, I love how he is always honest even if he knows he'll get in trouble. No one has taught him to lie, to cheat, to kick someone else. I would like to keep it that way!

He is starting to put words together and make sentences, he has been taught how to kick a ball instead of throwing it and he is getting heavier by the day! The summer clothes we bought him, I thought would last all summer, well lets say we're making another trip to target here soon!

On thursday while Taylor was in his class, McGuire and I decided to take a quick trip to Days Market. As many of you know I worked there for 4 years, and it was like a 2nd home to me. While we were there of course I bumped into old friends and chit chatted for a while. If any of you have or had a toddler, they don't have the patience for that. But that day McGuire sure did. So I got him a balloon for the awesome behavior that he had during that time.

Hoagie Buns: $1.59
Nectarines: $1.09
Free orange farm animal balloon: FREE
The smile from McGuires face:

PRICELESS!!!!
